Bikies Lose Their

Patches

Sometimes in life you come across someone that needs to be taken down a peg or two. These two grubs got that and so much more!

It was in the early 1990’s in Ipswich, I was working for a mate of mine who run a hotel there. It was all mid week stuff as I was still working other venues on the weekends. Apart from the odd local idiot or two it was a fairly easy venue to work, consisting of a public bar, private bar and bistro and a small night club that ran on the weekends. The only other area was a beer garden so it was not a real big or flash place.

My mate, old Jimmy who ran the place told me that the hotel a mate of his ran not far down the road, had been having trouble with a couple of bikies from one of the smaller no account biker gangs. They had been dealing drugs out of the public bar, and then standing over anyone who paid too much attention. The police had not been able to establish proof of their crimes and in desperation Jimmy’s mate had come to him and asked if he knew of anyone who could help him “fix” the problem.

That is where I come in, Jimmy took me aside, and filling me in on the goings on, he told me that there would be a substantial monetary reward if I could bash these guys to the extent they would never step foot in the pub again! So after I agreed, Jimmy lined up a meeting with his mate so I could get the full story of what he was up against and provide a solution. Over a lovely sit down meal in the hotel I was working at and well out of earshot of the local grubs, we shared a few lovely bottles of red wine and a plan was hatched. It involved me going to go up to his hotel and dealing with these two (ok so not exactly rocket science but generally pretty effective).

About a week later, Jimmy’s mate rang me and said they were in his pub running amuck, so wandering up the road to the other pub, the manager met me out front and pointed my targets out to me through the window of the public bar. As I walked in, I scanned the room, quickly noting exits, the positioning of furniture and anything that could be hazardous to me, including the pool tables and cues and where other patrons were seated. By the time I was halfway across the room I had my plan of attack well and truly sorted out.

My soon to be victims were a pair of grubby looking individuals. The one sitting at the bar was your typical looking biker, approximately six foot, about 140 kilos of fat and the long greasy hair halfway down his back. And on the back of his leather jacket his bikers patch prominently displayed.
